This music was created, by overlapping 4 live improvised stereo performances. The first two tracks were improvised live, and recorded onto an 8-track. Then the second two tracks were improvised, and recorded onto an 8-track, using the first improvisation as a guide. Then the next two tracks were improvised using the first two improvisations as a guide, and so on, and so forth. Then the final mix was done live, working the faders of the 8-track in real-time. It's old and archaic, but you have to...

Gumshoe is a group which creates music by improvising with found media. Samplers, turntables, lap-tops, and loopers are all utilized to create a surrealist jazz experience. These recordings were completely improvised, and broadcast, live during Chuck Miller's HeadSpace radio program in Rochester, N.Y. These recordings were then edited for length, maintaining it's original sequence of events. The number in the album title indicates the day in which it was recorded.

This is a recording that was done the weekend after the 9/11 attack. It was an attempt to unload my intense frustration into an art project. The art project eventually became this 45 minute music suite. The whole project, done in the same improvised style as the first Impossible Orchestra project, was completed in about 4 days. The last song, "News Anchor" was recorded after Dan Rather's appearance on Letterman, in which they both spontaneously burst into tears.
